Measuring Alcohol Outlet Density: A Toolkit for State and Local Surveillance

According to the Task Force on Community Preventive Services, limiting alcohol outlet density is an effective means of reducing excessive alcohol consumption and alcohol-related harms. The CDC's new Alcohol Outlet Density Surveillance Toolkit provides steps for using several alcohol outlet density indicators for surveillance in states and local jurisdictions. You'll find analytic code, screenshots, and guiding questions to help accomplish the six steps outlined in the CDC Guide for Measuring Alcohol Outlet Density. It also adds a seventh step on visualization, reporting, and communication.
