How to Use the Library

Who can use the library?

The Minnesota Prevention Resource Library provides service to the entire state of Minnesota. All resources are available to prevention professionals, educators, researchers, coalition members, parents, and students, regardless of your location in the state.

What can you find in the library?

Currently, the MPRC library provides access to books, training materials, research material, newsletters, and journals, with an emphasis on the prevention of alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use and abuse.

The library website provides access to databases, journals, articles, national and state organizations and their resources, as well as, a variety of reliable, up-to-date internet resources.

How to borrow material from the library

Books, manuals, and dvds are available for 5-week loans to residents of Minnesota. Renewals are available if the item does not have a request on record.

Library items can be mailed to organizations or individuals. Items can also be picked up from our location in North Branch, MN.

How to retrieve an article from the library

Many of the articles listed on the Subject Guides are available by clicking on the article link. If an article needs a username or password for access, instructions will be noted. If you need help accessing an article, please contact our office: (651) 674-4085.
